Aims and objectives: Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is non-invasive and efficient for evaluating pancreaticobiliary junctions. However, the pediatric pancreatic duct is slim, delineation is difficult and pancreaticobiliary maljunction(PBM) diagnoses are challenging. The aim of this study was to asses[...]

Methods and materials: Retrospective review of medical records for 48 patients with CCC was conducted, including demographics, biliary amylase and MRCP findings if available. Inclusion criteria of PBM was 1) the common channel is longer than 5 mm by MRCP and combined by intraoperative cholangiography(IOC ); 2) patients wi[...]

Results: Overall, there were 18(37.5%) male and 30 (62.5%) female patients with dilatation of bile duct performed MRCP. The median age of the 48 patients was 3 years (range, 6 days to 13 years).Twenty-eight cases had PBM according to MRCP(Fig 1,2,3). Univariate analysis confirmed that age, cyst diameter >[...]

Conclusion: Conclusions:Age, cyst diameter and descending cysts into pelvis affected junctional delineation of  the pancreatic and bile duct in pediatric PBM with MRCP. Huge cyst descension into  pelvis was an independent factors affecting pediatric PBM detection.
