Aims and objectives: Although most spontaneous lobar intracerebral hemorrhages are caused by hypertension and amyloid angiopathy, some cases are also caused by vascular lesions such as cerebral arteriovenous malformations, dural arteriovenous fistulas, aneurysms and so on.   In patients with spontaneous lobar intra[...]

Methods and materials: We retrospectively analyzed the records of patients admitted to our institution with SLICH between April 2011 and January 2016. All patients underwent contrast-enhanced CTA, including 4D-CTA, soon after confirming SLICH on non-contrast CT.   All patients showing cerebrovascular disease on 4D-CT[...]

Results: During the study period, 136 consecutive patients met our criteria and were included in this study. 78 (57.4%) were male and 58 (43.6%) were female with an average age of 56.4 years (range: 20-88 years). Conclusion: Whole-brain 4D-CTA seemed to be useful for diagnosing spontaneous lobar intracerebral hemorrhage, particularly for the detection and evaluation of cerebrovascular arteriovenous shunting lesions.
